Breast Reconstruction

The aesthetic outcome of breast cancer treatment has become a major concern. Surgical treatment of breast cancer can cause a distortion of the breast, or asymmetric shape and/or volume or even total removal of the whole breast. Breast reconstruction is a physically and emotionally rewarding procedure for a woman who has lost a breast due to cancer or other conditions. The creation of a new breast can dramatically improve your self-image, self-confidence and quality of life. Breast reconstruction has no effect on cancer and its safety has been proven. It does not compromise the chances of recovery or the long-term monitoring of breast cancer. Breast reconstruction has 3 objectives: Reconstitution of breast volume Contralateral breast symmetrization Reconstruction of the nipple-areola complex.
